In Mark 10, James and John ask Jesus for a place of position, one at His right hand and one at His left. But Jesus responds with a question that reaches far beyond their request:
“You do not know what you are asking.” — Mark 10:38
Can you drink the cup I drink? Can you be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?
In other words, Are you prepared for what you’re asking for?
We can ask God for greater influence, greater responsibility, and greater opportunities, but are we allowing Him to prepare our hearts to carry them?
Because in the Kingdom of God, the greatest preparation isn't about changing your position. It's about allowing God to transform your heart.
This week on Come to the Table, we're diving into the heart of preparation. Because before we ask God to take us somewhere new, we must be willing to let Him do something new within us.
